Wow! What a crazy weather day it was on Thursday!
I was glad to hear that most of my people were barely affected. Most just experienced power outage. Some had a tree or two downed, missing bbq grill & a missing bike?!?We were amazed at the speed of which things were flying by our windows. Not just skidding along the ground, but actually FLYING!
Much to Sydney's dismay, we had no "powers to anything" all day. She played fairly well for most of the day but by late afternoon, she was a bit discouraged, and cold.
We had some car windows blown out.
That's a bummer.
And part of the fence blew down.
It's an old fence.
Thankfully the trampoline stayed in our yard. Although it did hover about 5 feet or so from it's original position.
The 500 pound metal butterfly yard chair got flipped. Again, we are thankful it didn't fly away.
It got dark around 5pm, so we had to light the candles.
Hats on for warmth.
The flash was a bit bright since we'd been in the dark all day.
Sydney called it a party in the dark when we lit the candles. She did a song & dance show for us. Eventually she decided the party was over and it was time for bed.
We used hand warmers placed in socks to warm up our beds. (This is not recommended by the manufacturer.)
Thankfully by 8:30 the little girls were sleeping, cozy in their beds, and the power came back on. Then we had a visit by a hero that helped us tape up the windows on the van, and we finished off the day with a nice warm cup of coffee and some good company. :)

Wow! That's beyond blustery! I'm so glad that you all are okay and that the damage wasn't TOO severe. Love you guys!
